Meet the Team

Everyone has a story, so here's mine! I was born in Oklahoma City, OK, and soon after moved to the St. Louis area. I've lived here my whole life, primarily in the Jefferson County area about 45 minutes south of STL. Currently I reside in Pacific, MO, a little town out in the sticks!

 

Education

I graduated in 2017 with my bachelor's degree in graphic design from Lindenwood University. Since my time in my degree program, I have rapidly built my skillset and design abilities. I've learned so much over the years and have gained a ton of valuable knowledge that allows me to continue to create high quality designs from concept to completion.

DesignsByAlyssa LLC

I'm best known as a freelance graphic designer & illustrator, who strives to put craftsmanship and perfection with every project I take on. Owning a business never used to be on my radar, but when the opportunity presented itself, it was a decision I'm extremely happy I made. I decided on the name DesignsByAlyssa as a placeholder at first, but since I've started it has felt like the best identity for my brand, especially with my floral illustration as the main focus!

My Work Ethic

Those who know me and who've worked with me would describe me as having an upbeat attitude and enthusiastic personality that allows me to be personable and welcoming to every client I work with. I strive to veer away from the "big corporate feel" and I'm very much a small town girl. However, I've developed a number of designs for both small & large companies, allowing me to be versatile in my work and expertise.

My Experience

I've worked in the print industry since 2018. I've held many different roles during my time in the professional workplace, such as a project manager, an office manager, a graphic designer, and now a full time business owner. I value all experiences I am faced with, and I'm constantly looking to learn and stay current with the modern graphic design trends. My experiences range from identity branding, print design, social media design, web asset design, product design, large format print design, and much more. While my specialties fall into print design, I'm experienced in multiple ranges of design fields as well!

Personal

When I'm not working on a design, I like to relax by watching movies or hanging out with my dog, Charlie. I like to hike on the weekends as well as play video games (typically the old school ones like Sega Saturn or Nintendo GameCube) as well as work on building my gym routine. I'm very close with my family and visit them often. I'm often finding ways I can get back into my sketchbook in my free time, as hand drawn sketches are where my heart tends to fall to; drawing by hand will always be one of my favorite ways to create!

Charlie

I adopted Charlie in January of 2024, and he has been the best addition to my professional and personal life. He turned 8 years old on December 2, 2024. He's a great security lead and makes the office feel completely safe, barking at any strangers and sniffing out any suspicious squirrels or bunnies in the area. His favorite things to do are nap, eat snacks and go on our weekly hikes.
