Studio Art: The Eye

In one of my studio art classes, one of my final projects featured real subject matter with an illustrative addition. In my piece, I focused on studying an eye and incorporated plant life around it. The concept was to represent the idea that Earth is "alive," using the eye to symbolize the Earth. The shape, along with the flow of the surrounding plants, created a nice globe-like appearance. This artwork was made with ink, charcoal, and gouache on a 24" x 18" piece of cover stock poster paper.
