Brand Identity: Sk8Happy

In this Digital Illustration project, we were assigned to develop an iconic brand, complete with a style guide, brand guidelines, and mockups. This was my first experience with branding, and at the time, I was very interested in the punk rock aesthetic, as reflected below.

I chose to create a brand called Sk8Happy, a fictional non-profit skateboard and accessories shop where people of all ages, including men, women, and kids, can find everything they need for skateboarding. As I was still exploring my own personal brand, I experimented by using a hand-drawn "outline" of a skateboard as the main image and opted for a rounded sans serif font for the primary and secondary font sets. I utilized this vector image as a repeating pattern for a potential business card design. Additionally, this brand set featured very bright, vibrant colors, drawing inspiration from keywords like "punk," "rock," "fun," and "happy."

Although the branding had some loose ends and was somewhat unrefined, it introduced me to the world of brand identity and logo creation and helped me get a foot into the world of beginner graphic design.
