ADI Meetings & Events: 2023 Lake Tahoe Incentive Trip

ADI Meetings & Events was organizing a travel incentive program to Lake Tahoe, one of North America's largest lakes, renowned for its iconic blue hue, stunning beauty, and tranquil relaxation spot. The hotel where the attendees would stay was nestled among the vast mountain ranges surrounding the area, offering diverse views of the beautiful Nevada landscape from every angle. Despite the group's mountain destination, the resort was marketed as a high-luxury retreat equipped with all the premium amenities one could desire.

This group was relatively small, with only about 15 attendees compared to other travel incentive trips, allowing for a greater degree of personalization in the designs. I was told that the group mainly consisted of men perceived as "rugged and manly," which influenced my aesthetic approach to the pieces. I aimed to emphasize both the beauty of the outdoors and the luxury of the hotel, considering that many of these men would be accompanied by their wives or partners, making it important to incorporate a touch of femininity as well.

My main color palette featured a lot of browns to evoke the forestry and natural vibe of the destination, as well as the deep blues showcased by Lake Tahoe. When I first started, with the goal of enhancing personalization, I created a small tree line logo that can be seen framing the page numbers at the bottom corners of the POE (program of events); I also utilized this as a border element on the back of the luggage tags to carry over from one piece to another.

Additionally, as I was putting together the POE, I realized that adding underlying tree rings throughout the pages would provide continuity and elevate the design, making them visible in the backgrounds of the text pages. These steps, along with others I took throughout the design process, helped to further enhance these travel incentive pieces and allowed the small-town essence of nature to shine through.
